BROOKLYN — A man who opened fire on a dice game, killing one man and wounding two others, was sentenced to 25 years in prison on Wednesday, according to the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office.

Lawrence Harris, 24, of Crown Heights, shot three men playing dice on the corner of Sutter Avenue and Union Street in Brownsville just before midnight on June 28, 2012, the DA said.

Harris fatally shot Trendon Franklin, 20, three times in the chest, stomach and arm, and hit two other men in the chest and in the back, the DA said.

Harris was charged earlier this year with murder, attempted assault and reckless endangerment and sentenced Wednesday to 25 years in prison in Brooklyn Supreme Court, according to the District Attorney.

“This defendant’s senseless act of gun violence makes him unfit to remain part of our society,” said District Attorney Ken Thompson. “He deserves to be in prison for many years to pay for the life he took and the injuries he caused.”
