Have You Seen Kendra the 'Sassy' Stolen Bike? Her Owner Wants Her Back

By Nicole Levy | September 28, 2016 2:51pm

A bike with a lot of personality is missing.

"Have you seen Kendra?" reads a flier posted in Fort Greene.

"She's sassy and smart and a lot of fun and I MISS HER DEARLY," wrote the distraught owner of the recently purchased blue-and-white Miyata road bike with an aluminum frame.

The two-wheeler was stolen on Sept. 21, according to a photo of the flier posted to Reddit Wednesday morning.

"If you want a bike in NYC you should probably not get emotionally attached to it," opined a commenter.

Kendra's owner is offering a monetary reward if the bike gets returned. It's unclear exactly how much the used bicycle would retail for, although a bicycle enthusiast told DNAinfo it would probably be less than $200.

"I WILL NOT GIVE UP ON HER," the forlorn cyclist swore of his or her search for their beloved Kendra.

DNAinfo New York reached out to the owner of the bike for comment but did not immediately hear back.

The odds of a joyous reunion are slim, though. A survey in 2014, which questioned residents of Montreal, found that only 2.4 percent of bikes stolen in that city were recovered.

Cyclists can register their bikes with the NYPD so that, in the case of theft and recovery, they may be returned.
