PORT RICHMOND — One of two men accused of robbing a Staten Island priest at gunpoint outside his church pleaded guilty Friday, District Attorney Michael McMahon said.

Kerry Pack, 39, admitted to an attempted robbery charge. He was accused of robbing Father Marc J. Roselli outside St. Mary of the Assumption Church and faces between 12 years to life, McMahon said.

"This defendant mercilessly victimized a priest in front of his own church, a parish which has faithfully served the Staten Island community for decades," McMahon said in a statement.

"Mr. Pack, who has a long record as a violent felon, will now face a sentence of 12 years to life in prison for his wanton and craven actions."

On the morning of June 3, Roselli drove his car into the parking lot of the church at 1265 Castleton Ave. and was heading inside to serve mass when Pack and Lucas approached him, prosecutors and a parish worker said.

Pack pulled out a gun, pressed it to the priest's ribs and stole $18 in cash, his credit card and car keys, the parish and prosecutors said.

The pair then punched Roselli — who was not wearing his collar at the time — and drove off in his car, prosecutors said.

They later ditched the car several blocks away then broke into a Henderson Avenue home with a third person, Claudia Sirca, 26, where they were arrested later that day, authorities said.

Pack was also charged for heating up a piece of glass inside a North Burgher Avenue home on May 19 which he used to burn Sirca's arm then cut her in the face and arm, prosecutors said.

He's scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 28, McMahon said.
