PORT RICHMOND — Police arrested two men accused of robbing a priest at gunpoint Thursday morning as he was on his way to Mass.

Kerry Pack, 39, and Antwyne Lucas, 44, were arrested Thursday night and charged with robbery and criminal possession of stolen property after they robbed the Rev. Marc J. Roselli outside of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, the NYPD said.

Roselli drove into the parking lot of the church, at 1265 Castleton Ave., at about 5:10 a.m. and was on his way to celebrate an early-morning Mass when Pack and Lucas approached him, Eva Contreras, the church's parish secretary, told DNAinfo Thursday.

One of the men pulled a gun on Roselli — who was not wearing a clerical collar at the time — and he handed over $18, his credit cards and car keys, Contreras said.

One of the muggers then punched Roselli in the eye before driving off in the priest's car, Contreras said.

The priest's car was later recovered by police a few blocks away from the church, the NYPD's Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said.

Roselli refused medical attention despite the injury and still managed to celebrate Mass that morning, Contreras said.
