THE BRONX — Police are looking to speak to a Staten Island man with a string of arrests about two muggings of elderly women in Belmont, police said Friday.

Daniel Deynes, 26, who has 13 priors, including felony assault, was wanted for questioning after a 90-year-old woman was robbed in a home invasion and an 82-year-old was robbed in her building before being pushed to the ground and kicked, according to the NYPD.

The 90-year-old woman was in her home on Adams Place on Aug. 14 when a man entered her home through an unlocked door and mugged her.

He took $40 in cash from the woman, a gold chain and two wedding rings, police said.

In the other robbery, an 82-year-old woman was walking near Arthur Avenue and East 188th Street on Aug. 21 when a man followed her into her apartment building, snatched her gold necklace and then shoved her to the ground and repeatedly kicked her.

The 82-year-old was not seriously injured.

Deynes, whose last known address was 210 Van Duzer St. in Staten Island, was previously charged with felony assault, burglary and grand larceny, according to the NYPD.

Anyone with information on any of these incidents can call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
