OCEAN HILL — A young man was fatally shot in the arm and torso Tuesday night, police said.

The 22-year-old, whose name wasn't immediately released, was gunned down in front of 1585 St. Marks Ave., near Thomas S. Boyland Street, about 10:23 p.m., NYPD officials said.

He was pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital, police said.

"I heard five shots right after each other. I thought it was in my backyard. It just lasted a couple seconds. I didn't hear any commotion before. It was just a regular day, then, 'Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!" said Arabia McCrae, 26, who lives near the scene.

"It wasn't scary because I've heard gunshots before, but never on this block," she added.

There were no immediate arrests, police said.

It wasn't immediately clear what sparked the shooting.
