Bicyclist Killed After Being Struck By Van on Grand Central Parkway: NYPD

QUEENS — A bicyclist was struck and killed by a van after he veered into traffic on a Queens highway early Monday morning, police said.

The man, whose identity has not been released, was riding on the left shoulder of the eastbound Grand Central Parkway near 111th Street in Corona shortly before 1 a.m. when he swerved to the left and was hit by a Mazda MPV minivan, authorities said. 

The bicyclist died at the scene, according to the NYPD

The driver of the car, a 33-year-old man, remained at the scene and was not charged, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
