RED HOOK — A pop-up IDNYC enrollment center is returning to Red Hook this month.

The Red Hook Community Justice Center, located at 88 Visitation Place, will serve as a pop-up site from Sept. 12 through Sept. 23. Visitors can make an appointment by calling 311 or signing up online at www.nyc.gov/idnyc.

The hours for the enrollment center will be Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Tuesday from noon to 7:30 p.m. On Sept. 23, the site will close at noon.

IDNYC is a municipal identification program that's open to New York City residents who are at least 14 years old.

The city identification card offers a number of benefits for holders, including eligibility for a free one-year membership at multiple cultural institutions, such as Brooklyn Academy of Music, Museum of Modern Art and the Metropolitan Opera.

The card also offers a host of discounts for New York City parks' recreation centers, Citi Bike, YMCA centers, movies and Broadway tickets. IDNYC can also be used to access discounts for prescription drugs, according to the city's website.

Holders may also use the card to open a bank or credit union account and it can be linked to library cards in New York, Brooklyn and Queens public systems.

The card cannot be used as a form of ID for entering bars.
