GREENWICH VILLAGE — A man fired a gun at another man in Washington Square Park in a fight over a woman, police said.

Police said a 25-year-old man approached a 29-year-old man's girlfriend in the park about 11:15 p.m. on Wednesday and asked for sexual favors.

The couple took offense, police said, and started arguing with the 25-year-old.

The 25-year-old then took out a gun and hit the other man in the head with it twice, police said, before firing a single shot.

The gunshot hit the pavement, dislodging a concrete fragment that flew up in the air and hit the 29-year-old man, police said.

Police said the injured man refused medical attention at the scene.

The NYPD is still looking for the gunman, whom they describe as approximately 5-foot-5.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
