LONGWOOD — A man was slashed across the face following an argument he had with his attacker, police said.

The assault took place at the corner of Intervale Avenue and Fox Street on Wednesday around 6:10 p.m., when the suspect and his 33-year-old victim got in a fight that led to the assailant cutting his victim's face and fleeing in an unknown direction, according to the NYPD.

The victim was taken to Lincoln Hospital for treatment, police said.

It was unclear what the suspect and victim were arguing about, according to police.

Officers described the suspect as a man in his late 20s, standing 5-foot-8 and weighing 150 pounds, who was last seen wearing dark sneakers, blue pants and a white shirt.
