LOWER EAST SIDE — A man was critically injured in a hit-and-run while crossing the street Monday morning, police said.

The 67-year-old man, whose name wasn't immediately released, was crossing the street near Allen and Division streets about 10 a.m. when a northbound vehicle hit him and drove off, an NYPD spokesman said.

"A lot of blood was on the ground. The firetruck came and washed it afterwards. It was a pretty heavy scene," said Antonett Green-Beeput, 33, who's visiting from Jamaica.

The man was treated at Bellevue Hospital, where he's listed in critical condition, police said.

There were no immediate arrests, police said.

It wasn't immediately clear what type of vehicle hit the pedestrian.
