By Aidan Gardiner | August 22, 2016 8:50am

BROOKLYN — A man was shot in the leg when he tried to intervene on a fight between his girlfriend and another man in Bedford-Stuyvesant on Sunday night, police said.

The 22-year-old man was outside 208 Malcolm X Blvd., near Putnam Avenue, about 11 p.m. when the other man picked a fight with his girlfriend, an NYPD spokesman said.

He went to defend the woman, but then the other man pulled a gun and shot him in the left leg, the spokesman said.

The victim was treated at Kings County Hospital, where he's listed in stable condition, police said.

The suspect hadn't been arrested as of Monday morning, police said.
