Man Shot and Killed on St. Marks Avenue in Crown Heights

CROWN HEIGHTS — A man was shot and killed on St. Marks Avenue in Crown Heights Tuesday night, police said.

Police responded to gunshots around 8:15 p.m. and found the man, shot once in the torso, outside 1358 St. Marks Ave. between Buffalo and Ralph avenues.

The 30-year-old man was taken to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The victim has not yet been identified by police, pending family notification of the death.

The killing is the third in the area this summer. Last week, a 35-year-old man was shot and killed four blocks away from Tuesday’s shooting. And in late June, 21-year-old Miguel Zuniga was fatally shot in the head inside the lobby of a building in Kingsborough Houses, located about three blocks from the latest homicide.

No suspects have been identified in the shooting Tuesday, police said, and the investigation is ongoing.
