FLATIRON — A Queens man tried to stop police from writing his friend a public urination ticket by telling them he had a powerful uncle, according to a police report and court documents.

Tazrianul Islam, 26, of Queens Village, was with a friend on West 21st Street between Broadway and Fifth and Sixth avenues at 3:20 a.m. on Aug. 14 when officers busted his pal for urinating in public, according to a criminal complaint.

As officers were writing up the friend, Islam began arguing with them, warning them that he had powerful uncle in the finance industry, according to a criminal complaint.

“It would be in your best interest to let my friend go,” Islam said, according to the complaint.

It was not immediately clear who Islam's uncle is.

When Islam ignored repeated orders to allow the officers to ticket his friend, they arrested him for interfering, but not before he flailed his arms in an effort to break free, according to the criminal complaint.

Prosecutors charged him with resisting arrest and obstructing government administration and Islam struck a deal allowing the charges to be dismissed if he does two days of community service and keeps out of trouble for six months, according to a spokeswoman for the Manhattan District Attorney’s office.

Islam’s lawyer did not respond to a request for comment.
