ATM and $13K Stolen From Prospect Heights Eatery Zaytoons, NYPD Says

PROSPECT HEIGHTS — An ATM machine and $13,000 were stolen from a Vanderbilt Avenue restaurant last week, police said, and the NYPD is searching for a young man caught on surveillance outside the eatery just before the burglary.

Police said an unidentified suspect broke the front door of Zaytoons Restaurant at 594 Vanderbilt Ave. at about 3:30 a.m. on Aug. 11 and took three iPads, an ATM machine and $13,000 in cash from the Prospect Heights restaurant.

On Monday, the police department released surveillance footage of a young man seen near the door of Zaytoons before the incident. The young man is not currently a suspect in the burglary, but is wanted for questioning in the burglary, police said.

He was last seen wearing a T-shirt decorated with the letters “RESPEK,” white sneakers and a book bag.
