WILLIAMSBURG — A robber pushed his way into a woman's home, chased her into the kitchen and threatened her with a knife, but ran away when the victim wouldn't stop screaming, according to police.

The attempted robbery took place on Taylor Street in South Williamsburg just before 10 p.m. on Aug 9, police said, when a young man wearing a black T-shirt, a white wristband and wheeling a scooter forced his way into the apartment of the 27-year-old victim.

The terrified woman ran into the kitchen pursed by her assailant who then grabbed a knife from the sink and waved it at her while demanding her to be quiet, police said.

"The victim screamed and continued screaming and he panicked and fled," a police spokesman said.

Police are looking for help identifying the perpetrator who was captured in security camera footage and is thought to be in his late teens.

Anyone with information is asked to call NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS or for Spanish 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
