ELMHURST — Police are hunting for an identity thief who stole credit card information by installing skimmers at ATMs around the city — and made off with more than $2,000 from victims' bank accounts so far, police said.

The suspect's spree began in February, when he withdrew $603 dollars from an ATM at 919 Third Ave. in Manhattan using credit card information he stole from a victim in the 110th Precinct in Corona, police said.

A month later he took $734 out of a Bank of America ATM at East 13th Street and Third Avenue using a victim's card from within the 20th Precinct on the Upper West Side.

On March 8, he took out another $703 from the same ATM, using that same card, according to the NYPD.

If you have information about this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
