BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — Hundreds of dollars in cash was stolen from a safe after a break-in at a Brooklyn Heights's Häagen-Dazs last week, police said.
The eatery, the chain's first location, located at 120 Montague St., was burglarized sometime between 11 p.m. Aug. 6 and 6:15 a.m. Aug. 7, according to the police report.
The front door to the ice cream parlor was damaged during the break-in and $500 in cash was stolen from the safe, police said.
Authorities were alerted after a woman walking her dog saw the broken front door and called 911.
Other notable crimes in the 84th Precinct, according to police, include:
► A 28-year-old man was walking on Bond Street toward the Dekalb Avenue train station when an unknown thief grabbed his wallet and fled Aug. 7 at about 12:30 a.m.
► A 15-year-old boy was arrested for swiping a pocketbook hanging from the back of a chair while the victim was having dinner outside on Bond Street on Aug. 3 at about 7:45 p.m. The teen stole $150 in valuables from the victim, but police found him carrying $900 in property when he was caught.
► An 82-year-old woman was walking on Hicks Street when her bag was grabbed by a male thief who quickly fled the scene on Aug. 3 at about 5:30 p.m. The victim lost miscellaneous credit cards and IDs, $35 in cash and a $50 black wallet.
