BROOKLYN — An NYPD officer convicted of stomping on a man’s head in Bedford-Stuyvesant was fired from the force on Monday, police said.

Joel Edouard, 38, was sentenced to two years probation on June 23 on the condition he quit or be fired by the NYPD. The former officer filed an appeal, according to reports, but he was officially terminated from the force on Aug. 8.

Edouard was on duty on July 23, 2014 when a group of officers arrested Jahmi-El Cuffee after spotting him drinking on the sidewalk and possessing what appeared to be marijuana.

The former officer was seen on video pointing his gun at Cuffee while other officers tried to handcuff the man.

Edouard was later seen stomping on his head while Cuffee was on the ground.

The former officer's lawyer did not immediately return a request for comment.
