We bet you'll be asking for "S'more" when these girl scout cookies make their debut in December.

The Girl Scouts of Greater New York will be selling S'mores cookies inspired by the campfire treat as of Dec. 16, the girls leadership organization announced in a statement Wednesday, a.k.a. "National S'mores Day."

The graham-cracker sandwich cookies with chocolate and marshmallow filling join Samoas and Thin Mint in the Scouts' lineup to celebrate the 100th anniversary of its cookie selling program.

Legend says the Girl Scouts invented the s'more, with its first known recipe appearing in the 1927 Girl Scouts handbook "Tramping and Trailing With the Girl Scouts."

S'mores cookies will be available for purchase this winter from Girls Scouts in your neighborhood from Dec. 16 through Jan. 22, and from their online stores starting Jan. 3. Troops will also set up booths throughout the city to sell cookies this spring.

Proceeds from cookie sales stay within city limits, and 65 cents collected from each box sold will go directly to a local Girl Scout troop.
