THE BRONX — A person went on a shopping spree with credit cards stolen from pocketbooks left in a restricted room at Montefiore Medical Center, the NYPD said.

On July 20 at about 8 a.m., someone entered a room reserved only for doctors and nurses and stole two pocketbooks belonging to two women, ages 29 and 30, according to police.

The thief then used credit cards from both victims to make a number of purchases around The Bronx, police said.

The NYPD released an image of a suspect and asked the public's help identifying her.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
