BOERUM HILL — Three Trek bicycles worth a total of $1,885 were stolen from a Boerum Hill home while the owner was on vacation, according to police.
The victim, a 42-year-old man, returned to his apartment on Warren Street between Court and Smith streets and found that a security gate under a set of stairs had been left unlocked, according to the police report.
The bikes — valued at $620, $781 and $483 — were missing from the location, police said. The theft took place some time between June 8 and July 29, according to the report.
Other notable crimes in the 84th Precinct, according to police, include:
► A 29-year-old man was pickpocketed July 26 at about 9:10 a.m. near Atlantic Avenue and Smith Street. The stolen property included a wallet, cellphone, $10 in cash, a MetroCard, an ID card and a library card.
► A 16-year-old boy was arrested for trying to break into a home on Bergen Street on July 30 at about 7 a.m. The teen entered the fenced property and tried to open a security gate without permission. He was found in possession of a six-inch knife, a marijuana cigarette, a small scale, several small Ziplock bags and cigarette paper.
