Straphanger Chases Off Man Who Photographed Up Her Skirt, NYPD Says

QUEENS — A woman chased off a man who photographed up her skirt on the stairs of the Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue subway station Tuesday, police said.

The 29-year-old straphanger was walking up the stairs of the station just after 5 p.m. when the suspect, who can be seen in footage released by police Thursday, bumped into her, NYPD officials said.

Another passerby told the woman the man had placed a cellphone under her skirt, so she started chasing after the upskirter, police said.

The suspect fled and hadn't been arrested as of Friday morning, police said.

He's in his 40s, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and was last seen wearing a dark striped shirt, dark jean shorts, black sneakers and a black backpack, officials said.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
