EAST HARLEM — There ain't no party like a big block party.

The Museum of the City of New York and El Museo del Barrio are teaming up to put on the four-day block party "Uptown Bounce." It will offer several dance and art classes, open galleries and a slew of DJs who will spin '70s disco, Latin, hip-hop, pop.

This year, the museums are paying special tribute to Prince, who died in April, with a dance party featuring his songs spun by DJ Joey Carvello and DJ Woof.

Each Wednesday, from July 27 to Aug. 17, the community will have all access to both museums, located next to each other at on Fifth Avenue at 104th Street, from 6 to 9 p.m.

“Nothing says it’s summer in the city like a block party hosted by two of East Harlem’s premier cultural institutions,” said Whitney Donhauser, director of the Museum of the City of New York.

"Uptown Bounce is a perfect opportunity for New Yorkers of all ages, interests, and dancing abilities to experience the best both museums and the East Harlem community have to offer.”

The events are free but require registration at both the Museum of the City of New York and El Museo del Barrio websites.
