Melania Trump’s Speech Lifts Words from Michelle Obama’s 2008 Address

Melania Trump’s speech at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland Monday night has come under fire when it turned out that she plagiarized several phrases from Michelle Obama’s address at the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Earlier in the day, Trump’s wife told NBC that she had written her speech herself “with as little help as possible.” [CNN, New York Times and NBC]

Trump Team Blames Speech Controversy on Hillary Clinton

Now Trump's campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, is blaming presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton for the plagiarism in Melania's speech. According to the Boston Globe, Manafort said this controversy is “once again, an example of when a woman threatens Hillary Clinton, how she seeks out to demean her and take her down.” [Boston Globe]

Misogynistic Merchandise Sold Outside RNC

Pins and shirts depicting Hillary Clinton in dangerous and violent situations, most of them calling her a “bitch" were popular items outside of the Republican National Convention, according to the Huffington Post.
