NOLITA — The new cafe at the International Center for Photography on Bowery may soon serve cocktails.

The cafe, operated by TriBeCa-based eatery Maman, opened in June when the museum launched at its new location at 250 Bowery.

Cafe operators appeared before Community Board 2's liquor licensing committee Tuesday night with an application for a full liquor license.

They explained that they would serve white wine, not red, in order to protect the museum's photography collection from spills, but that they also planned to serve liquor.

Their menu consists of pre-made salads, sandwiches and pastries, as the location does not have its own kitchen.

Drinks would be available during museum hours at the 16-table, 30-seat cafe. When private events are held, such as openings, lectures, parties or even weddings, liquor would be allowed beyond the cafe's limits.

The full board will vote on the application at its June 21 meeting. The committee vote was split, 5-5.
