Gateway Elton III is being constructed through the low-income affordable marketplace program of the city’s Housing Development Corporation and the low income rental program of the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development.

The apartments are part of a multi-building development with ground floor commercial space from co-developers Hudson Companies, Related Companies and CAMBA Housing Ventures.

Applicants who already live in the city receive a general preference and residents of Brooklyn’s Community Board 5 get preferential consideration for 50 percent of the units.

Percentages of the apartments will also be set aside for mobility-disabled and vision or hearing-disabled residents, as well as city employees.

Prospective tenants have until Sept. 2 to submit their applications. For more information on how to apply, check out the city's NYC Housing Connect website.
