CROWN HEIGHTS — Police are looking for a man they say beat a deli worked with a baseball bat after an argument at the Nostrand Avenue store over the weekend.

The suspect was inside the Finest Deli at 792 Nostrand Ave. near St. Johns Place in Crown Heights around 3 a.m. Sunday when he got into a verbal fight with a 30-year-old man working at the bodega, police said.

The dispute escalated when the suspect hit the victim on the head with a baseball bat, and fled the store on foot.

After the attack, the deli worker was treated at a local hospital and released, the NYPD said.

On Monday, police released images of the suspect taken from surveillance footage in the store. A video of the man shows him inside the store, wielding the bat near the bodega's counter.

Photos show the suspect wearing a yellow baseball cap, white T-shirt and glasses. Police said he was also wearing yellow shorts and purple shoes at the time of the assault.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers hotline at (800) 577-TIPS or for Spanish (888) 57-PISTA (74782).
