Celebrate they country's independence by learning more about one of its most popular founding fathers.

As part of the New-York Historical Society's "Summer of Hamilton," fervent fans of Alexander Hamilton are invited to spend the holiday with a Hamilton re-enactor and quiz him on the life of the original  founding father, whose life has taken Broadway by stage. While Lin-Manuel Miranda won't be in attendance, the re-enactor is sure to be insightful about the original A-Ham's life and his time in the military.

Participants can also learn about how interested parties could enlist in the Continental Army, which Hamilton was a part of, learn about what life in a military camp was like, and even watch drills performed by re-enactors portraying soldiers during the Revolutionary War. There will also be "patriotic crafts" including the making of tri-cornered hats.

The celebration will also include an in-depth look at the duel between Hamilton and Vice President Aaron Burr, which led to Hamilton's death. The etiquette of duels will be explained and participants can view artifacts related to the infamous duel. Sadly, the tour will not take place at the Weehawken, NJ location where the actual duel took place.

The events are free for children under 17 and will be included in the price of admission to the museum, $20, for adults. For more information about the informative Independence Day fete, check out the Historical Society's schedule
