EAST VILLAGE — Free summer movies in Tompkins Square Park return next week with an all-new line-up.

Films in Tompkins will kick off its seventh year on July 7 with “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” and will continue to screen free movies in the park every Thursday through Aug. 11, ending with Baz Luhrmann’s “Romeo and Juliet.”

Movie-goers are encouraged to bring blankets and picnic baskets, and can show up for the showings as early as 6 p.m. to grab a spot on the grass.

Local bands will start the night with free music before the films begin at sundown.

The series was first started by local restaurateur Darin Rubell as a way to bring the community together, and continues to be sponsored by his restaurant Boulton and Watt on Avenue A, as well as Drexler’s cocktail bar, Cafe Magador, and HOWL! Arts Inc.

Here’s the line-up for this year’s series:

► July 7: “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”

► July 14: “Next Stop, Greenwich Village”

► July 21: “Do the Right Thing”

► July 28: “Wild Style”

► Aug. 4: “True Romance”

► Aug. 11: “Romeo and Juliet”
