FLATIRON — A man went rampaging through Ace Hotel early one morning last week, banging on doors and assaulting another guest before cursing at officers and challenging them to arrest him, according to authorities.

Jordan Nichols, 29, was staying at Ace Hotel, located at 20 W. 29th St. between Fifth Avenue and Broadway, on June 21 when at about 6:30 a.m. he started roaming through the halls, banging on doors, police said.

Nichols confronted one guest a few doors down the hall from him and shoved the man and hit him in the face, police said.

Hotel management called police, but when officers escorted him to his room to collect his belongings he refused to cooperate, according to police. Instead of packing up, Nichols took off his shirt, laid on the bed, and told police “I am not going to leave, so you’re going to have to pull me out and f---ing arrest me,” according to a police report.

Officers complied, and prosecutors charged Nichols, who hails from Maryland, with trespassing, according to a spokeswoman for the Manhattan District Attorney’s office. A judge released him without bail, and he is due back in court on Aug. 4, records show.

A lawyer for Nichols did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

An employee of the hotel declined to comment on the incident.
