HUDSON YARDS — A billionaire hedge-fund manager is moving his asset management company to the Hudson Yards.

Steven Cohen, who founded Point72 Asset Management after his hedge fund group SAC Capital Advisors agreed to pay a $1.2 billion penalty for insider trading violations in 2013, is moving Point72 from Madison Avenue to 55 Hudson Yards.

“The modern, progressive space with premier retail, cultural events and urban green spaces will help us to continue to attract and keep the top talent that is our most valuable asset,” Point72 President Doug Haynes said in a statement.

The move will relocate the firm’s New York headquarters from two buildings on Madison Avenue to 175,000 square feet of space spanning six floors at 55 Hudson Yards, the firm said in a release.

The new office will include an outdoor terrace reserved for employees and “panoramic” views of Hudson Park and the Hudson River, the release added.

Point 72 will join the law firms Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy and Boies, Schiller & Flexner at 55 Hudson Yards when the tower opens in 2018.
