THE BRONX — Four people were killed in borough over the weekend, the second one in a row that saw multiple homicides.

Kedwin Valerio, 25, was stabbed in the chest at 311 E. 188th St. around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday by his girlfriend, 21-year-old Laura Montanez, police said.

The murder was sparked by the couple arguing over Montanez's refusal to give Valerio the passcode to her cellphone, according to the NYPD.

EMS took Valerio to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, and Montanez has been arrested and charged with murder and manslaughter in his death, police said.

Carl Ducasse, 17, was also stabbed to death in The Bronx over the weekend by East 175th Street and Walton Avenue, police said.

Officers found him stabbed in the chest on Friday around 11:21 p.m., and EMS took him to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

There have been no arrests in Ducasse's death, and the investigation is ongoing, according to the NYPD.

Elwin Coste, 17, of Harrisburg, Pa, was shot and killed in Longwood this weekend as well, police said. It was not immediately clear what sparked the shooting.

This is the second weekend in a row that multiple people were murdered in The Bronx, and homicides across the borough were up by 16.7 percent as of June 12 this year compared to last year, according to NYPD statistics.
