MANHATTAN — A female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Gramercy Friday afternoon, according to the FDNY and witnesses.

The victim was hit at Park Avenue and East 23rd at about 4:56 p.m. and was transported to Bellevue Hospital, fire officials said.

Several witnesses said the woman appeared to be a teenager but the FDNY could not confirm the age of the victim.

Darlene Nsafoah, 28, who works at nearby Just Salad, was coming back from her lunch break when she saw the young woman laying on the ground.

"I felt concern, but there was a crowd of people around her, everyone was concerned," said Nsafoah.  "Everyone thinks we're rude, but us New Yorkers, we take care of our own."

The worker added that the victim appeared to be moving when emergency responders arrived.

"I saw a lady crying over her. And that wasn't even her kid," Nsafoah said.

There was no immediate information on the victim's condition.
