CORONA — A man holding a rifle accidentally shot and killed another man while "play fighting" with him, police and sources said.

Christian Penaloza, 28, was with Perez Villa Rufino, 24, on the corner of 45th Avenue and National Street at 7:45 p.m. Sunday, police said.

A witness told police the two were "play fighting" and the Penaloza's rifle accidentally went off during the horseplay, sources said.

Rufino, who lived in the neighborhood, was taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where he died Monday morning, according to the NYPD.

Penaloza, who lives near the shooting scene, was expected to be arraigned in Queens Criminal Court on Tuesday on charges of criminally negligent homicide and possession of marijuana, according to court records.
