CORONA — Police are searching for a gunman who walked into a private party Friday night and shot another man multiple times, critically injuring him, according to officials.

The suspect walked into the VFW Hall on the corner of 98th Street and Northern Boulevard at around 11:10 p.m., shot the 32-year-old victim multiple times and fled, police said.

It's not clear why he was targeted or if the two knew each other, police said.

The hall had been rented out for a party, and the suspect was not an invited guest, police said.

The victim is in critical condition at Elmhurst Hospital, according to officials.

Police described the suspect as 6 feet tall, between 200 and 220 pounds and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and shorts.
