5 NYPD Officers Injured in Three-Car Crash, Police Say

BROOKLYN — Five NYPD officers and three civilians were injured in a three-car crash in Brownsville on Wednesday morning, police said. 

A patrol car and an unmarked police vehicle were pursuing a suspect, who was on foot, on Sutter Avenue at roughly 2 a.m. before they collided with a taxi cab at Thomas S. Boylan Street, police said.

Three officers were taken to King County Hospital and two others were taken to Jamaica Hospital for minor injuries, the FDNY said. 

The three people inside the taxi suffered minor injuries and were taken to Brookdale Hospital, police said.

The man the officers were chasing was arrested, police said.
