MIDTOWN — A patron threw a lit candle at a Midtown bartender and scalded his face with wax after getting angry he wouldn’t serve her more drinks, authorities said.

The 43-year-old woman was inside The Three Monkeys sports bar at 236 W. 54th St., between Broadway and Eighth Avenue, around 3:20 a.m. on May 30 when a 24-year-old bartender refused to serve her more booze, police and a complaint filed with the Manhattan District Attorney’s office said.

She then picked up a lit candle and threw it in the bartender’s face, the DA’s office said.

Hot wax from the candle left his face red and swollen and caused him “substantial pain,” the complaint said.

The woman was arrested and charged with assault, the DA’s office said.

“Whatever I picked up from the bar in my hand, I picked it up and threw it at him, because I got mad that I wasn’t getting served,” she told a police officer, according to the complaint.

She was released on her own recognizance that same day and is expected to appear in court on July 25, the DA’s office said.

A manager working at The Three Monkeys Tuesday said the bartender was “fine" following the attack.

“He’s good — a few marks, but he’s fine,” he said, declining to provide his name due to the ongoing nature of the case.

An attorney for the woman did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
