MIDTOWN — A woman was fatally struck by a train at the 59th Street station Monday afternoon, according to officials.
She was hit by an uptown 5 train entering the station at about 1:47 p.m., an MTA spokeswoman and NYPD spokesman said.
She was pronounced dead on the scene, the NYPD spokesman added.
Northbound 4 and 5 train service was disrupted for several hours. Trains resumed express service with residual delays, the MTA announced at 3:37 p.m.
