Man Fatally Shot in Crown Heights, Police Say

CROWN HEIGHTS — A man was fatally shot on a Brooklyn street early Sunday morning, police said.

Unique Gilkes, 25, was repeatedly shot in the torso outside 1639 St. Johns Place, near Ralph Avenue, about 4:50 a.m., NYPD officials said.

Gilkes, who lived nearby, was pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital, police said.

There were no immediate arrests.

It wasn't immediately clear what sparked the shooting.
