BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — Police are investigating after the body of an unidentified man was found floating in the East River near Brooklyn Bridge Park, the NYPD said.
A passerby saw the man floating face down in the water off Pier 5, near Furman and Joralemon streets, just before 3 p.m. Sunday, the NYPD said.
Emergency responders retrieved the body, which had begun to decompose and may have been in the water for about a month, police said.
The cause of death has not yet been determined.
