The trailer for filmmaker Luke Meyer's documentary about Unlocking the Truth, the teenage metal band is finally here.

"Breaking a Monster" captures the lives of the three Brooklyn boys — Malcolm Brickhouse, Jarad Dawkins and Alec Atkins — who formed a band when they were all about 10 years old and began performing metal covers in Times Square a year later. After videos of Unlocking the Truth went viral, the band was given a 1.2 million dollar recording contract with Sony, opened for Metallica and performed on shows like "The View" and "The Colbert Report."

The film highlights their nascent popularity and offers a view into the turbulence behind the scenes as the band tries to get its name out there. But "Breaking a Monster" is also a coming-of-age story for a group of middle schoolers who are not only learning to navigate their awkward teenage years, but a complicated music industry as well.

The film will be in NYC theaters on June 24 and it'll be in theaters nationwide this July. The band's official debut album, "Chaos," is due to be released on June 17.
