QUEENS — The NYPD is offering a $2,500 reward for help finding a man who punched and spit on a woman while riding the N train in Astoria last week.

The suspect was on a northbound train near the Astoria Boulevard subway station at about 3:30 p.m. on May 27 when he spit on the 27-year-old woman, whom he didn't know, police said.

When the woman took out her phone to call the police and try to take a photo of the attacker, he punched her in the mouth, according to authorities.

The man fled the subway station, and the victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital for a cut to her mouth, police said.

The NYPD is offering a reward for information in the case. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
