BATTERY PARK CITY — These drinks were on the house.

A bartender fired from the Black Hound Bar, a South End Avenue cocktail spot, hosted something of an illicit drinking party at his former place of employment, police said.

The bartender, who still had keys, let himself into the bar on May 15, at about noon, along with "13 or more individuals," according to a police report.

The group proceeded to drink for several hours before leaving. It was unclear how much alcohol they went through. The bartender had been fired a week before, police said.

Bar owners declined to comment.

As of Tuesday, the bartender had still not been arrested, police said.
