JACKSON HEIGHTS — A woman was killed Sunday and a man was injured after they crashed their car into a parked vehicle in Queens, according to police.

An 86-year-old man was driving west on 34th Avenue with 83-year-old Amy Huang in the front passenger seat when he struck a parked car near the intersection of 91st Street shortly after 2 p.m., police said.

Police believe the driver may have mistakenly stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake causing the car to slam into the other car. The collision forced the unoccupied vehicle onto the sidewalk, where it struck scaffolding, according to police.

Both victims were taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where Huang was pronounced dead after suffering severe trauma to her head and body, police said. The driver was treated for cuts to his arm.
