BOERUM HILL — A 48-year-old woman was fatally stabbed Saturday by a neighbor at a Brooklyn housing site for low-income women, police said.

A dispute broke out between Liza Millet and Dorothy Curry, 55, just before 7 a.m. at the YWCA at 30 Third Ave. near State Street, according to officials.

Police found Millet with multiple stab wounds to her back and torso, an NYPD spokesman said, and Curry had barricaded herself inside her own apartment. It’s unclear what sparked the dispute.

Officials eventually arrested Curry and found a kitchen knife at the scene, police said.

Millet was taken to New York Methodist Hospital where she died from her injuries, according to officials, and her alleged attacker was transported to Kings County Hospital for psychiatric evaluation.

Curry was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

Neither resident had a history of violence or complaints, and both were in “good standing” at the YWCA, the organization said in a statement.

The site has 24-hour security, which responded to the incident immediately, according to the YWCA.

Since its founding in 1888, the organization has never experienced a violent incident, the group said.

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic and unexpected loss of life that occurred at a YWCA residence today,” YWCA USA said in a statement.

“We express our condolences to the family and friends of the victim, and we will work with YWCA Brooklyn as it offers support and counseling services to its residents.”
