MANHATTAN — Rapper Troy Ave can be seen bursting through a door and opening fire in surveillance footage released by police from Wednesday night's fatal Irving Plaza shooting.

The crowd scatters and people duck for their lives as the Crown Heights rapper, whose real name is Roland Collins, pulls the trigger, according to the video.

Troy Ave, 33, was arrested and charged with attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon Thursday after going to a New York University hospital for an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the leg, police and sources said.

The NYPD released the footage asking the public for help identifying any suspects, witnesses or additional victims from that night.

Troy Ave's bodyguard, Ronald McPhatter, 33, was killed in the shooting and two other people were also wounded, police said.

Rapper T.I. was supposed to headline a concert at the venue Wednesday night, but never took the stage as the gunfire erupted while rappers Maino and Uncle Murda were performing ahead of his set, police said.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).  The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
