MIDTOWN EAST — A man is wanted for grabbing a woman by the hair and tying her up in the basement of a Midtown building last week, police said.

The 31-year-old victim's hands and feet were tied up with wire and duct tape Tuesday, May 17 at around 6:45 p.m. by an unknown individual who is also wanted in connection with robberies of baby stores in Brooklyn, authorities said.

The suspect took an unknown amount of property from the building at 125 East 47 St. and fled the scene, police said.

The incident is part of a larger pattern of robberies that occurred this year in Brooklyn, according to police.

Three baby boutiques in Park Slope and Carroll Gardens were targeted by a knife wielding duo who fled each location with cash and personal valuables in April and May.

Police released new images of the suspect wanted for the Midtown East robbery.

It was not immediately clear whether police were seeking the same suspect for all four incidents, or how they are connected.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS or for Spanish 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers Website or texting their tips to 274637(CRIMES) then enter TIP577.

All calls are kept strictly confidential.
