Pedestrian Injured in Hit-and-Run, Police Say

STATEN ISLAND — A pedestrian was injured in a hit-and-run in Elm Park Wednesday night, police said.

The 26-year-old man, whose name wasn't immediately released, was crossing the street at Harrison Avenue and Port Richmond Avenue about 9:20 p.m. when a black Nissan heading south on Port Richmond hit him and kept driving, an NYPD spokesman said.

The pedestrian was treated at Richmond University Medical Center where he was listed in stable condition, police said.

The driver fled the scene and was not immediately arrested, police said.
