BROOKLYN — A young man was fatally shot in the chest on an East Flatbush sidewalk Wednesday night, police said.
Dwayne Stephens, 21, was outside 2911 Avenue D., near Nostrand Avenue, about 7:33 p.m. when he was gunned down, NYPD officials said.
Stephens, who lived nearby on Snyder Avenue, was pronounced dead at Kings County Hospital, police said.
The suspect, who was last seen running toward Clarendon Road in a black hoodie and black pants, wasn't immediately arrested, police said.
The circumstances of the shooting weren't immediately clear, though investigators said they believe it may be narcotics-related.
Stephens' death was followed by a fatal double shooting about four hours later, the second gun-related homicide in the neighborhood Wednesday night, police said.
